FAQs
Some questions customers have asked
{short description of image}

  • How reliable are TeleCAM webcam systems?
    Highly reliable. TeleCAM webcam systems only use the highest quality components available. We are proud to report that we have experienced nearly 100% performance uptime with our webcam installations. In the unlikely event that service is required, we can generally correct within 24 hours or less, software or communications issues using a dialup modem and servicing a customers system directly from our facilities.

  • Can I move the camera remotely?
    No. Although technically possible, it is not recommended that the camera be moved by other than the precision positioning managed by the camera control PC. Once the specific views have been programmed, the camera motion control software automatically manipulates the camera to take specific shots, to create panorama pictures from individual snaps, etc. at many times during the day. Other movement of the camera will interfere with the operation and upset the website image presentation.

  • Can I add additional cameras to my TeleCAM installation?
    Yes. However, you may not need to add additional cameras. The versatility of TeleCAM camera motion of nearly 360 degrees, coupled with +/- 50 degrees tilt and up to 20 X zoom provide a tremendous range of viewpoint access - for near and distant views, eliminating the need for additional cameras in most cases. For those unique situations where a second camera is required, a second camera motion control computer is also provided.

  • Can I use the control computer for other purposes, in addition to TeleCAM camera control?
    No. We recommend strongly against this because it may interrupt the control computer, preventing it from handling its tasks of image capture and uploading of picture files to the web, resulting in unreliable operation.

  • Can I see live images from the camera without interfering with the process of capturing images for the web?
    Yes. Images from the camera are in standard composite video format, and are "live TV" images of whatever the camera is "seeing" at that time. For this application, TeleCAM Systems can provide a special video signal distribution amplifier to deliver a composite video signal to your television monitor or VCR.

  • What does the TeleCAM installation cost?
    Depending on system functionality, location (indoor or outdoor) and website services, TeleCAM installations range from $1000 to $6,000 purchase price, or from $145 to $395 per month for rent/service contract agreements.
